Position Summary:
The Technology team seeks a justice-minded, equity-driven, full stack Junior Developer to play a key role in building the nation's first civic leadership development platform. This role will assist in managing and executing the development of LEE's web-based applications, assist our data science explorations, and other technology solutions.
This is a growth opportunity for the right solution-oriented individual to work closely with our experienced outside developers and backend administrator as the internal technical lead for advanced and large-scale projects. They will be required to use technical knowledge and creative thinking to come up with innovative solutions to help our organization use technology to scale both our internal processes and member-facing engagement. The Junior Developer will grow all aspects of our in-house development, playing a critical role in design, planning, best practices, programming, and deployment.
The Junior Developer will sit on the Tech Operations team and will often be asked to quickly prototype new solutions in an agile environment. Our ideal candidate will bring a balance of creativity, curiosity, flexibility, drive, and passion for LEE's mission.

Travel Requirements: 15%
Responsibilities:
- Managing and executing new projects related to the implementation of new or improved web-based technology platforms and processes. (50%)
- Examples of work may include building a web application to track candidate election results reporting, building a mobile travel logistics app, building a program application process into Salesforce, or rapidly developing a fundraising website.
- Working with LEE Technology team platform owners and support staff to troubleshoot issues and implement new functionality. (15%)
- Owning structures, process, and guidance around development for LEE Technology and external teams. (10%)
- Owning documentation, expertise and support for platform integrations within the LEE ecosystem. (10%)
- Working closely with other Technology team members to ensure infrastructure and data integrity success. (5%)
- Implement and integrate machine learning for the Technology team and broader organization. (5%)
- Through our professional development fund and building relationships and connections in related industries, stay on top of technical developments, trends, approaches, and updates. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of relevant experience with full stack development is preferred
- 3 years of professional work experience
- Boot camp certification or equivalent minimum
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to balance extreme attention to detail with swift execution
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to set and consistently meet deadlines and commitments
- Ability to create meaningful relationships and partnerships within and across teams
- Comfort working n a geographically dispersed organization
- Ability, curiosity, and desire to learn new applications/processes/environments
- Willingness to adapt and be flexible
- Familiarity with design-led processes
- Demonstrated skills among a full stack web environment:
- Server side scripting languages, preferably Java based (node.JS) and Python
- SQL and relational database architecture (MS SQL Server, MySql, etc.)
- CSS3, UI Frameworks
- Object Oriented programming
- Version Control (Git)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- Experience communicating and collaborating within a geographically dispersed team
- Strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion
- Deep passion for educational equity and belief in LEE's mission and theory of change
- Salesforce (apex + SOQL)
- Data visualization experience (D3 libraries)
- API Restful Services + JSON/XML data structures
- Deploying through cloud infrastructures (AWS)
- SDLC Methodology Experience (Agile)

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included.
