A Democratic Campaign in the greater NYC area is hiring a Field Organizer for closely contested races to unseat Republican incumbents. In collaboration with the Campaign Manager, the Field Organizer will recruit volunteers and create voter outreach events to hit ambitious persuasion and GOTV targets.
Candidates should be excited to take a leadership role in a fast-paced local campaign and be willing and able to work nights and weekends. Entry level and recent college graduates will be considered.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Recruit and manage volunteers and interns for an aggressive canvassing and phone banking program
• Create, in coordination with the Campaign Manager, the volunteer outreach strategy
• Conduct volunteer trainings for canvasses, phone banks and other volunteer activities.
• Partially supervise an expansive college and high school intern program
• Additional duties as required, such as fundraising call time with candidates and social media management
• Additional preference will be given to candidates who live in Nassau County or have access to a car.
Required Skills and Background
• Exceptionally well organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Disciplined and solutions-oriented approach to all tasks.
• Must have access to a cell phone and vehicle
• Commitment to electing all Democrats on the ticket
• The ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends
