Organizers are the heart of our efforts. The primary responsibility of our Ballot Access Organizers is to recruit, retain, and supervise teams of volunteers to help circulate signature petitions in order to qualify for the ballot in various states. Organizers will be accountable to specific goals including phone calls, high-traffic canvassing shifts, recruitment of volunteers, and events.

Physical Demands. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes high output, talking, driving, and working with other people. This job requires the use of cell phones, computers, and other technology.
Travel and Deployment. Organizers will be deployed to multiple states. Temporary housing will be provided by the campaign in the form of supporter housing for the ballot access portion of the campaign. If supporter housing is unavailable, hotel accommodations will be provided. The campaign will provide financial resources to cover deployment travel.

Full-time, competitive salary including benefits such as 100%-employer-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance for all staff, spouses/domestic partners, and their children; employer-paid premiums for life insurance for all staff; 20 accrued paid days off each year; 12 weeks of paid parental leave, and 12 days accrued paid sick leave.

Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Recruitment and Management. Ballot Access Organizers will identify, recruit, and support volunteers in circulating petitions and gathering signatures in order to qualify for the ballot. This includes:
- Identify and recruit volunteers directly through phone calls, texting, and events
- Utilize digital tactics to engage supporters and volunteers in online activities
- Lead volunteer trainings
- Signature Gathering and Data Entry. Ballot Access Organizers will also participate in signature gathering events and petition circulation. They will collect signatures alongside volunteers will be responsible for collecting and logging all completed petition papers. Ballot Access Organizers will ensure all data is entered in a timely manner and will oversee the signature verification process when necessary.
- Meet Goals. Organizers will be accountable to specific goals including phone calls, high-traffic canvassing shifts, recruitment of volunteers, and events. They will work within a metrics-driven environment to meet goals for volunteer recruitment and signature petition collection.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented
- Willingness to work within a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives
- Ability to take feedback and implement changes in real time
- Good listening skills
- Experience working or volunteering on electoral, union, or community organizing campaigns strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, on-call environment
- Must be self-motivated and willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends as needed
- Dependable transportation that can be used for work-related travel
- Willingness to be deployed to multiple states
