Digital Organizer
Sara Gideon for Senate is looking to add a digital organizer to our Digital Department. This role is ideal for someone looking to break into digital on campaigns, and will be the person managing online relationships with supporters across the state. This is a full-time position.


Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the execution of the digital organizing program, including email, SMS, and other digital tools
  • Attend grassroots events on behalf of the campaign.
  • Manage relationships with volunteers across the state through online tools. 
  • Develop training materials for volunteers, staff, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications: 

  • At least 1 cycle or year of experience organizing -- electoral organizing preferred, experience organizing in Maine a plus. 
  • Passion for electing Democrats & flipping the US Senate. 
  • Experience using digital organizing tools like Mobilize, Hustle, etc. 
  • Quick learner, able to adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Team player -- no task is too small!
Social Media Associate

Sara Gideon for Senate is seeking a Social Media Associate to execute social media strategy across campaign channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). The ideal candidate is a strong writer and digital strategist with experience successfully managing online channels for a candidate, organization, or brand.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the campaign's online presence and execute social media strategy while staying on brand and on message.
  • Attend principal events to collect content and live tweet.
  • Identify opportunities to engage on issues and create content for rapid response moments.
  • Draft blog and web content and make updates to website as needed.
  • Report regularly on social media analytics to improve performance.

Qualifications

  • 2 years managing social media platforms for a candidate, organization, or brand. Campaign experience a plus but not required. 
  • Experience writing, editing, and proofing social media content that drives action and maintains a consistent voice. 
  • Preferred: Basic fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator), or others.
  • Proficiency in photography and audio/video editing a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Eat, sleep and breathe the Internet.
