The Organization:
2020 Campaign Services, INC was established by Presidential campaign alumni to build organization in battleground states. We help progressive organizations build community based, volunteer driven campaigns. The company is focused on providing clients with turn-key logistics to get a quality voter contact program off the ground quickly and efficiently. The main services that we provide our clients include research, hard data products, full service operations support for staff and offices, accountability mechanisms and staff training.
National Communications Director Description:
The National Communications Director will work to showcase our community-based, volunteer-driven, issue and electoral organization in key battleground states for the general election campaign. The National Communications Director will focus on identifying both national opportunities to highlight our coalition partners as well as supporting local coverage of our partners, volunteers, and their work.
Responsibilities:
- Craft communications strategy for the campaign with a focus on highlighting coalition partners and local organizing in battleground states
- Identify key messengers at both the national and local level
- Provide messaging guidance for partners and offer training for volunteer spokespeople
- Support state-based staff and provide feedback and guidance including state-specific messaging and identifying earned media opportunities
- Manage all press inquiries on behalf of the campaign
- Develop external communications materials including press releases and support for partner organizations
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5-7 years communications experience in electoral campaigns, issue advocacy, or with progressive organizations
- On-the-record experience and relationships with national reporters as well as understanding of local press coverage
- Able to communicate effectively to a diverse set of constituencies in a diverse set of geographies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight timelines
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and sense of humor
