About the DCCC: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC's Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. Position Summary: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is hiring 4 Political Desks for the Committee's Independent Expenditure Unit (IE). Each desk will be responsible for managing internal staff and consultant teams involved in polling, mail, digital and media buys for the Committee in competitive Congressional races across the country. The Political Desks are responsible for managing the processes of polling, creative creation and ad buys in conjunction with the leadership of the IE's senior management team. Significant past campaign and political experience are required. Campaign management experience is a plus. Prior experience with paid media is a plus. Successful applicants will have demonstrated ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously, a keen understanding of politics and messaging, and ability to work collaboratively among a variety of different teams. Organizational skills are critical.
Responsibilities Include:
• Work with internal staff and consultant teams to develop and execute paid communications strategies for assigned Congressional races across the country.
• Manage consultant teams to ensure strategic consensus, timely decision-making and clear and efficient process for meeting product deadlines.
• Create landscape and tactical memos demonstrating deep command of the dynamics of each district, overall message and strategy
• Monitor race developments by tracking ad spending through competitive reports and monitoring TV traffic
• Manage product process by shepherding polls, mail and media from concept to finalized and approved product
• Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree in Political Science, Government or related field
• Minimum 2-3 cycles of political campaign experience. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who have campaign management experience, specifically in Congressional races.
• Prior experience with paid media is a plus
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires flexibility as needs and priorities change
• Excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail. Experience managing multiple processes and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A team player who is collaborative, process-oriented and committed to protecting the Democratic majority in the U.S. House
