End Citizens United's Mission: To fix our democracy by getting big money out of politics and protecting the right to vote. We will work to end our rigged political system by electing reform champions, passing meaningful legislative reforms, and elevating these issues in the national conversation. We will work in partnership with these champions to overturn Citizens United, end the unlimited and undisclosed money in politics, and protect and expand the right to vote.

 

Reports To: Digital Director

 

Location: Washington, DC

 

Job Summary: The Deputy Digital Director will work with the Digital Director to oversee and implement End Citizens United's national online organizing strategy. The person in this role will craft email and social media campaigns designed to encourage ECU's over four million members to take online and offline action by calling their elected officials, volunteering to elect reform champions, and participating in our democracy. They will also correspond with ECU's members and potential members to maintain and grow our community of activists dedicated to addressing campaign finance reform across the country.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


-        Supporting ECU's endorsed candidates by crafting email and social media campaigns that convert members to volunteers;

-        Coordinate ECU Action Fund's legislative advocacy campaign by planning email campaigns, developing email and social media content, and producing and sending emails;

-        Implement paid and organic tactics to help grow our email, SMS, and social media communities of activists;

-        Track and report on performance of electoral and advocacy activist campaigns;

-        Perform additional duties as required.

 

Qualifications: The Deputy Digital Director must be a self-starter with strong writing skills, a willingness to learn new software and tools, and at least 2-3 years of experience in digital production/marketing and/or community organizing. They must have a strong interest in campaign finance reform and voting rights. Experience working with CRMs (eg ActionKit, Blue State Digital), Adobe Creative Cloud, Mobilize, and Hustle/Relay is highly desired. Additionally, an instinct for creative problem solving, metrics driven attitude, and strong attention to detail are all important characteristics.
