Job Description: Field Organizer

Reports to: Political Director

Salary: commensurate with experience

About Congressman Ron Kind: First elected to Congress in 1996, Ron has devoted his career to making sure Wisconsin continues to be a great place to live, work and raise a family. He is a champion for improving access to affordable, quality healthcare, lowering barriers to a quality education, preserving our natural heritage, supporting veterans, family farmers and much more. Ron and his campaign team are committed to investing in a robust Democratic infrastructure throughout the district. This is a competitive district and will be critical to maintaining the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives as well as winning Wisconsin in the 2020 presidential election.

The Opportunity: As a field organizer, you will build local grassroots teams that will then engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and voter turnout. You will be responsible for executing a field program by building & maintaining the local volunteer infrastructure necessary for success in the fall elections. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work to build local grassroots teams that will then engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and retention. 

  • Create a strong Democratic presence in communities within your assigned turf. 

  • Execute direct voter contact, including organizing phone banks, canvasses and events

  • Develop strong relationships with local political leaders, grassroots organizations and allies. 

  • Build local volunteer base to support victory in the August Primary Election, November General Election.

  • Be a representative of Congressman Kind and his policy positions.


Qualifications (Required): 

  • Dedication to re-electing Congressman Kind and other Democratic Candidates

  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals. 

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours as necessary.

  • Adaptability to emerging campaign situations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team.

  • Exceptional organization 

Qualifications (Preferred): 

  • Previous organizing experience preferred, but not required.

  • Applicants should have access to a vehicle, and be willing to travel frequently.
