DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGER


Gary Peters for Michigan is hiring a Digital Content Manager to join the campaign in metro Detroit, Michigan. This is a full-time, paid position, perfect for someone looking to expand their experience working online, and is not an entry-level position. You will report to the Digital Director and Deputy Digital Director. Salary commensurate with experience.


About You:

● Dedicated to Democratic politics and ready to help reelect Gary Peters to the U.S. Senate.

● Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle more than one project at once is a must, along with strong written and verbal communications skills;

● Ability to work with a team under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment that will include work on nights and weekends, and being able to pivot on a dime;

● Experience running a social media program and developing the voice of the organization online using platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook;

● Enthusiasm for using said online tools to reach people where they are and expand the reach and message of the campaign


Responsibilities:

● Build out long-term, goal-oriented social media plan to execute across platforms

● Manage and plan campaign's daily, weekly and monthly social content

● Travel with the candidate to gather campaign assets including photos, video and testimonials that further the campaign's message

● Draft both evergreen and rapid response content

● Develop creative tailored to each platform including designing graphics, editing video and writing social copy


Qualifications:

● 2+ years of experience in digital communications for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization, or non-profit

● Extraordinary creativity, *extremely* online and passionate about using each social media platform to its fullest extent

● Exceptional writing skills with strong attention to accuracy and detail

● Proficiency in photography and audio/video editing

● Basic fluency in graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite products (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator), or others, is preferred.
