Organizing Together 2020 is hiring a National Deputy Human Resources Director. This position will report to the National Director of Human Resources. This role will support the recruiting function of the HR Department in Washington, DC. This position will be the liaison between states and headquarters for all hiring needs. This role will help to manage the HR Department with maintaining the resume/application clearinghouse for all open positions within the company.
Responsibilities
- Assist National HR Director in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures for on-boarding and recruitment
- Develops and maintains an open line of communication with in-state Human Resources Director on the status of interviews, vetting applications, employment verifications, offer letters, and the completion of the on-boarding process
- Establish innovative ideas for recruitment; new job boards, campus recruiting, and communicate those ideas to our in-state HR Directors
- Manage and maintain the application/resume tracking system
- Maintain a recruitment tracker for in-state and headquarters staff
- Develop and maintain a system of reference checks for in-state and headquarter staff in the applicant tracking system
- Submit vetting applications to Vetting Department and monitor the status
- Communicates with states and headquarters on verbal offers, then generate an offer letter to candidate through the applicant tracking system
- Facilitate with on-boarding vendor when we have received a signed offer
- Monitor and maintain the status of signed offer letters for state and headquarters
- Follow up with in-state HR Director for those new hires who have not sent back their offer letter or have not completed the on-boarding process with HRKnowledge
- Submit a report to the Finance Team of new hires for each upcoming payroll and anyone who has been off-boarded
- Will assist National HR Director with any sensitive documentation regarding staff in states and HQ
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of human resources/recruiting experience within an organization or company
- Bachelors degree is required
- Masters degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred, but not required
- Previous experience with recruitment platform Lever or similar applicant tracking system is required
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law
- Working knowledge of human resources information systems and tools
- Experience with on-boarding employees in large scales
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to details
- Capability to protect sensitive information and exercise discretion
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight timelines
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment
- Dedicated to working for Democratic candidates and causes
