Organizing Together 2020 is a coalition of organizations, organizers and activists working together to advance progressive issues and defeat President Trump. Organizing Together 2020 is a federal independent campaign that will build community based, volunteer driven, issue and electoral organizational capacity for the general election campaign. Organizing Together 2020 will organize early to build a robust organization ready to fully support a nominee for the general election. The National Operations Assistant will work to build community-based, volunteer-driven organizational capacity in key battleground states for the general election campaign. The National Operations Assistant will report to the National Operations Director and provide support to state-based operations directors and their programs. This position will work closely with other members of the national team, including the Chief Administrative Officer, to help implement tools and processes to track the progress of in-state programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage approval flows, weekly reporting documents, and other internal processes.
- Coordinate inputs and reports from project management tools
- Set up tools and accounts and develop 1-page walkthroughs to be included in on-boarding documents
- Conduct research and produce memos on various topics, products, and services.
- Birddog on HR documentation required during set up
- Step in to help states identify local vendors and utilities for areas that do not have staff capacity during initial ramps
- Help with the HQ to States deliverable tracker
- Plan and coordinate retreats, trainings, in-state visits, and other special projectsHelp produce and edit slide decks, memos and other documents for team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Organize travel logistics for the national team
- Collaborate with national operations team to administer efficient workflows between the state and IT, HR, Finance and Legal
- Help build and manage a collaborative meeting structure that focuses on a smooth transfer of information and space for short term, midrange and long term planning.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work across different personalities to achieve goals.
- A distinct attention to detail, with superior multitasking and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to identify and execute on opportunities to do better
- Prior assistant, administrative or campaign experience, preferred.
- Ability to work long days, including weekends.
- Commitment to electing Democratic candidates and supporting progressive causes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Sheets.
- A bachelor's degree or 4-years of office administrative experience preferred.
- Must be available to work from 8:30am-8pm, Monday-Saturday, and available to work remotely outside of these times.
- The candidate must live in the Washington, D.C. area or relocate, as this is not a remote position
- Dedicated to working for Democratic candidates and causes
