Research Analyst - Lake Research Partners

Lake Research Partners, a leading Democratic public opinion research and political consulting firm, is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for a full time Research and Polling Analyst position in our Washington, DC or Berkeley, CA office. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak it may be necessary for the selected candidate to work remotely for portions of 2020.

 

The selected Analyst will report directly to one of our Partner-led teams at LRP and work with political candidates, and progressive issue clients.  The ideal candidate will have some political and polling experience and be highly detail-oriented with the proven ability to follow through on assignments.

 

Lake Research Partners serve as senior advisors to a wide range of advocacy groups, labor unions, non-profits, state and federal government agencies, companies and foundations, as well as numerous elected officials at all levels of the government. The firm is national in scope, with offices in Washington, DC, New York and California.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Proofing documents including reports, presentations and tables of numbers
  • Writing short client memos and components of reports
  • Creating public presentations
  • Conducting background research for projects
  • Provide support for marketing needs as directed
  • Attend external events of interest to the team and firm

 

Applicants Must:

  • Be organized, diligent and responsible and able juggle a range of different tasks simultaneously
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well under tight deadlines 
  • Be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments 
  • Show sound judgment and discretion
  • Show good customer relationship and follow-up skills

 

Preferred Skills:

  • A level of political acumen
  • A background in or understanding of data analysis
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in an office setting
  • Experience conducting opinion research
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • A commitment to the progressive movement and to social, economic and racial justice
