Brief Overview:
Seven racial justice and membership-based organizations in Florida have set out to engage local organizations to support and facilitate the creation of long-term strategic coalitions at a local level, coupled with an understanding of each county and what it takes to effect positive change. As the County Organizer you are responsible for developing and mediating relationships, fulfilling the day to day tasks of coalition management (calendar invites, securing location, agenda creating, etc) and supporting partners as needed and able.
Responsibilities:
Develop deep, trust-based relationships with local organizations
Work closely with table convener/facilitator to intentionally and strategically hold the local table
Help facilitate the strategy development process in each county alongside Convener
Stay abreast of all political and social developments in the region
Coordinate all logistical aspects of monthly meetings and calls
Anchor initiatives within local tables / support partner initiatives as needed
Identify, recruit and support in the leadership and political development of new leaders
Support the implementation of developed Theory of Change and action plan
Report to Project Director on weekly calls and as needed on county
Write Theory of Change Concept Paper by agreed deadline with the support of Research Lead
Plan, execute or support in events as needed
Qualifications:
Superior interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and ability to form authentic trust-based relationships
At least 2 years of organizing experience
Event management
Meeting facilitation, preferable large groups
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment bringing a positive attitude
Willingness to be coached and developed
Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
Ability to see the big picture but take concrete small steps towards that vision
At minimum a familiarity with race, class & gender analysis
Bilingual preferred (Spanish/ English)
Must live in designated county

Due to COVID-19, strong digital skills are required; familiarity with Zoom and other virtual meeting spaces; dexterity with google docs and comfort working from home for extended periods of time as well. The position is fully remote until quarantine orders have been lifted and it is safe to gather.
Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to serve on the ground as the anchor and facilitator to the local table and partners. The organizer is responsible for developing relationships with the partners, owning logistical coordination for the meetings, driving concrete outcomes and supporting coalition initiatives on the ground and/or supporting partners as necessary to cultivate trust and legitimacy.
Outcome:
The desired outcome of this position is greater trust between and from partners resulting in more authentic and symbiotic relationships in support of building power together.

Salary: 50K + Competitive Benefits Package; Full Time, extends beyond 2020 elections.
