About the Accounts Receivable Specialist and Bookkeeper

The Accounts Receivable Specialist and Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the systems that ensure that Community Labor Administrative Services, Inc. (CLASI) will collect payment for services from its wide portfolio of clients across the country. This position also entails day-to-day financial bookkeeping functions for two of CLASI's primary clients. In addition, Accounts Receivable Specialist and Bookkeeper will provide key support to the Controller in the area of entity registration and tax compliance.

Accounts Receivable Job Functions

  • Utilize Bill.com digital software to invoice all clients for Accounts Receivables
  • Reconcile Bill.com client accounts 
  • Attain working knowledge of full client portfolio including collection procedures unique to each client
  • Enter all Accounts Receivable into the accounting database based on payroll journal entries 
  • Enter all payments against Accounts Receivables into the accounting database
  • Perform regular reconciliations of A/R aging reports in service of aiding cash flow forecasts
  • Organize records of invoices, bills, deposits and anything pertaining to A/R
  • Communicate with full client portfolio with excellent written communications in adherence to ethical standards.  
  • Monitor Accounts Receivables with vigilance, initiative and proactive systems building

Bookkeeping Job Functions

  • Perform full suite of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions for key clients
  • Enter transactions for key clients in accordance with the rules of double entry bookkeeping
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Record journal entries to general ledger including all cash receipts and wire transfers
  • Work with Senior Accountant to provide general ledger reports and various degrees of financial reporting to key clients. 
  • Attain working knowledge of due to/due from intercompany asset and liability accounts
  • Reconcile due to/due from accounts as necessary
  • Maintain up to date digital filing systems for all financial transactions
  • Perform other key projects and work with direction from Senior Accountant and/or Controller
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards

Compliance Job Functions

  • Manage state registrations for businesses where payroll is administered
  • Manage state registrations for withholding taxes and unemployment insurance
  • Manage state Charitable registrations with annual reports

Required education, experience, knowledge, and skills 

  • Accounting degree or similar combination of education and experience;
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of double-entry bookkeeping concepts;
  • Knowledge of Fund EZ accounting software a plus
  • Detail oriented, organized, possessing the ability to meet tight deadlines 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of multi-entity set up within non-profit framework;
  • In-Depth experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint;
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
  • Ability to communicate financial information;
  • Good attitude and team player; 
  • Integrity.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 and will be adjusted based on an internal equitable scale that takes into consideration years of experience, geographic location, and final job description. We also offer a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance and matching contributions into a 401(k) retirement plan, plus paid holidays, sick time, and unlimited vacation.
