[jobsthatareLEFT] JOB: Deputy Communications Director (Sierra Club, SF or Washington, DC)

The Sierra Club, the nation's largest and most effective grassroots environmental organization, seeks a San Francisco-based Deputy Communications Director for our ground-breaking, history-making Beyond Coal campaign.

This key leader will help guide national media strategy for one of the Sierra Club's priority campaigns. The Beyond Coal campaign has received a $50 million donation from Bloomberg Philanthropies, and the ambitious effort aims to retire a third of the nation's coal-fired power plants and replace them with wind, solar, and other clean energy alternatives over the next decade.

The ideal candidate is an expert communicator, entrepreneurial, resourceful, and eager to join a fast-paced team of top communications professionals. This person will lead a team of about a dozen talented media staff, and shape messaging, strategy and tactics.

Candidates should have 7+ years of media and communications experience, as well as previous leadership/management background, and a passion for environmental and social change. http://bit.ly/1M1jF71
