Position: Field Director sought for a New York Metropolitan Area Congressional Campaign. Responsible for the entire field infrastructure of the campaign including; hiring and recruiting their own field program staff and volunteers, setting and achieving field program goals, staff and volunteer training and daily reporting and accountability from petitioning stage to persuasion and GOTV. The Field Director will report to the Campaign Manager and Field Consultants. Position starts in early February.
Field Director Responsibilities:
· Executing and implementing a comprehensive, data-driven field plan focusing on three phases: petitioning, persuasion and GOTV.
· Maintain and manage the field program budget in collaboration with Field Consultants and the Campaign Manager
· Set, meet, and exceed benchmarks for petitioning, voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement, and GOTV
· Recruiting, training and managing a staff of campaign organizers.
· Management of the campaign voter database (VAN)
· Maintaining a professional campaign culture with an emphasis on building out best practices based on conditions on the ground and accountability to goals and metrics.
Field Director Qualifications:
· Applicants must be highly organized and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment
· Minimum of two cycles of field experience, including staff management.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong ability training and producing high performing organizers and volunteer team members.
· Votebuilder proficiency (VAN), including database management and excellent staff and volunteer training skills.
· Detail-oriented with an ability to be self-accountable.
· Ability to manage an accountability structure for program as a whole and for individual staff and volunteer team members.
· Strong leader with proven ability to motivate staff to exceed goals.
· Ability to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks.
· Spanish language skills preferred
