Qualifications: The Director of Outreach and Communications will need a strong work ethic, initiative and a dedication to progressive issues. We're looking for someone has the ability to network in a variety of social and work environments, and has good public speaking and presenting skills. Potential partner groups have varying styles and settings, and the Marketing and Communications Director will need to be flexible and effective in all such settings. Candidate must be a fast, succinct and clear writer. Marketing or communications experience, and familiarity with canvassing and electoral campaigns preferred. 5+ years of experience is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a partnership outreach and visibility strategy.
• Expand outreach materials.
• Reach out to and meet with prospective partner organizations and campaigns. Land new projects.
• Work with our project managers and client services staff to develop project proposals for potential clients.
• Train and mentor other Grassroots Campaigns staff in networking and outreach.
• Ensure all contacts are being tracked centrally
• Represent Grassroots Campaigns to groups, campaigns, and political leaders, including attending conferences, strategy sessions, and coalition meetings.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key players in national, state, and local political and nonprofit organizations.
• Manage regular internal and external communications about GCI and client accomplishments
• Primary responsibility for content on website, social media strategy, and optimization of search engine results
• Participate in organizational meetings as part of the leadership team
• Recruit and mentor client services and project management staff
