The North Dakota Democratic- NPL Party is currently looking for a qualified Communications Director. The Communications Director will work closely with the Executive Director, Chair, and candidates up and down the ballot as well as oversee the party's message for the 2018 cycle. The Communications Director will report to the Executive Director. The Communications will be responsible for:
· Working with the Executive Director and Chair to develop a communications plan and strategy for the 2018 cycle
· Working with candidates and campaigns up and down the ticket to craft their campaign messages and communications strategy
· Amplify the messages of statewide and legislative candidates
· Oversee media training for the Chair, Vice-Chair, and candidates
· Serve as the spokesperson for the party
· Draft press releases
· Work with the Digital Director to draft email copy and make sure that it aligns with the party's message
· If necessary, supervise the Press Assistant/Deputy Press Secretary and/or press interns
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
· 1-3 or more cycles of campaign communications experience
· Bachelors' degree in communications, political science or a related field
· Experience in developing press contacts, pitching stories, etc.
· Experience writing and executing a communications plan
· Comfortable working long, irregular hours for Democratic candidates and causes
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Salary:
Competitive monthly salary with fully paid health insurance.
