New York Democratic congressional candidate seeks a Field Director for the 2018 campaign cycle in one of the country's top targeted districts, NY-19.

 

The Field Director will serve as a core part of the senior leadership team, working closely with the candidate, stakeholders, and consultants, serving as a point of contact on the ground. The Field Director will be responsible for directing the day-to-day field operations for one of the nation's top potential swing seats, and the most flippable one in New York State. In this role, the Field Director will be responsible for planning and executing the campaign field plan and managing field staff and volunteers.

The ideal candidate is committed to electing Democrats to office and has a passion for progressive change. We are looking for a candidate with high energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude, who is eager to take on new challenges.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve on campaign's senior staff, work directly with the candidate and campaign consultants to develop and execute a field program that emphasizes targeted voter contact and grassroots outreach

  • Recruit, train, and manage staff to run regional county field operations

  • Recruit, train, and manage team of field volunteers

  • Track and analyze field data to ensure key milestones are achieved and use this data to inform the campaign's field program

  • Help oversee the field budget and allocate campaign resources appropriately

  • Network, develop, and strengthen relationships with NY-19 voters

  • Manage the day-to-day field operations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one cycle of campaign field experience required. Previous congressional campaign experience or equivalent preferred, preference given to those with experience in New York or the Northeast

  • Experience recruiting, hiring, training and managing a team

  • Experience developing, training and empowering volunteers

  • Knowledge of NGP VAN, ActBlue, and Excel

  • Ability to think quickly and strategically under pressure

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior experience with targeting and direct outreach

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Holds a valid driver's license

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
