Distributed Organizer

Type: Part-Time

Hours: 20-30 per week

Our Revolution will reclaim democracy for the working people of our country by harnessing the transformative energy of the "political revolution." Through supporting a new generation of progressive leaders, empowering millions to fight for progressive change and elevating the political consciousness, Our Revolution will transform American politics to make our political and economic systems once again responsive to the needs of working families. The Distributed Organizer will work across all departments - communications, political, operations, and organizing.


Position Summary:

The Distributed Organizer would be tasked with ensuring successful communication with local groups. They will ensure that Our Revolution Local Groups have prompt and consistent replies to all replies to the organizing inbox. They will also help with a new onboarding process for local groups, including training and discussing group norms, orienting groups to the MOU, teaching groups how to use Our Revolution's set of organizing tools, and be a source of general assistance and answers. This position will work out of the Washington, DC, office; it requires occasional evening and weekend work.


Essential Duties:

  • Collect feedback from groups while conducting onboarding interviews. Will oversee onboarding of new Our Revolution groups, ensuring all questions following trainings and MOU are answered.

  • Ensure a 24-hour response time on emails to the organizing team, replying with thoughtful, careful and helpful responses.

  • Assist in drafting organizing emails; assist with creation of web pages and web-based platforms.

  • Lead volunteer trainings from time to time.

  • Help create guidelines for issue campaigns.

  • Work with supporters nationwide to forward national projects (electoral campaigns, campus coordination, issue organizing, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Prior campaign experience preferred

  • Prior organizing experience preferred

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, proactive and results-oriented.

  • Capable of working collaboratively and handling multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility with schedule; this role includes occasional evening and weekend work.

  • Experience using Google Suite, Slack, and basic HTML coding skills.

  • Strong alignment to the Our Revolution mission and platform.


Compensation:

$20 per hour
