The Ohio Democratic Party is seeking a Deputy Engagement Director to be a true pro-active catalyst who will support, assist and guide programs throughout the state.
The Deputy will report to Director of Party Engagement with significant collaboration from other staff in the department.
General department support for trainings, events and meetings
Regular check-ins with Democratic county chairs, progressive groups, and other key stakeholders in counties across Ohio
Facilitating conference calls and in-person trainings for chairs, volunteers, elected officials, candidates and others
Organizing, executing, and staffing events
Assisting with special projects as they arise
Frequent travel throughout the state
Ability to project manage and keep multiple projects moving forward at once
The ideal candidate will:
● Be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and creatively problem-solve
● Be a self - starter who thinks on their feet
● Have strong oral and written communication skills
● Have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player
● Have a strong commitment to Democratic ideals
● Prior campaign experience a plus, in particular experience working with volunteers and/or on events
