Well-established and growing Democratic fundraising firm is seeking an experienced Client Associate to work directly with Democratic political candidates, progressive organizations, and non-profits at the federal, state and local levels on all aspects of their fundraising endeavors.


Job Responsibilities:

·         Client Support

o   Work directly with and provide excellent customer service to candidates and their representatives

o   Provide administrative support to candidates in their fundraising efforts

o   Process donations

o   Perform donor research

o   Prepare lists of potential donors for use during outreach sessions

o   Develop fundraising plans for clients and coordinate outreach and donation solicitation efforts

o   Maintain client and office database content

o   Draft correspondence on behalf of campaigns and their representatives in support of fundraising and event goals

·         Event Assistance

o   Assist with invitation preparation and distribution when needed

o   Process event RSVP's and monitor attendance records when needed

o   Prepare and maintain registration materials

o   Write, prepare, and distribute thank you letters when needed

·         Financial Management

o   Track expenditures for client accounts

o   Prepare weekly fundraising progress reports

·         Office Responsibilities

o   Maintain paper and electronic filing systems

o   Track the progress of concurrent projects

o   Proactively execute routine office activities in a timely manner

o   Follow procedures for the retention, protection, retrieval, and disposal of files and records.

o   Contribute to the design and implementation of office policies and procedures where it relates to client services

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience that reflects the ability to perform work at the same level as one who has completed a bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of experience working with a political campaign or in a similar field, preferable at the state or federal level
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal political systems and campaign fundraising regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with strong document editing abilities
  • A willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to an exemplary work product
  • The ability to multi-task, working with a variety of clients simultaneously
  • The ability to problem solve and manage client accounts independently with a global perspective and mature judgement
  • Strong knowledge of and experience working in database systems, experience working with NGP and a strong knowledge of all of its features preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of all software applications within the Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Microsoft Access and Excel preferred
  • Ability to thrive in both fast-paced and varied working environments
  • Strong self-motivation
  • Good humor and political savvy

 

The right candidate is meticulously organized, works quickly and efficiently with great accuracy, enjoys executing tasks, manages concurrent projects with ease, presents a professional demeanor to candidates and is passionate about American politics and the Democratic agenda.

 

This position has a standard, Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm weekly work schedule.  However, this position is required to staff client events outside of the standard weekly schedule on occasion.  Between 25% and 50% travel may be required to support clients outside of the Baltimore/D.C. metro area.

 

Must have reliable transportation.  The office is in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore City, but events may occur throughout the Maryland/D.C. area. 

 

Salary:  commensurate with experience
