House Majority PAC Political Desk Position

HOUSE MAJORITY PAC:

House Majority PAC is an independent expenditure only committee (often called a "Super PAC") that is designed to help elect Democrats running for the House of Representatives and hold Republicans accountable. House Majority PAC is committed to building a long-term organization that can take on the Republican outside groups in the battle for the House Majority. 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

 

Political Desks will be responsible for developing and executing independent expenditure strategies in a set of congressional races around the country.  Political Desks report directly to the Independent Expenditure Director. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      Track assigned races on a daily basis

 

·      Work with consulting teams to develop polls, mail plans and mail pieces, online communications, and radio and television scripts/ads

 

·      Work with other organizations that operate on the independent side of the wall to coordinate strategies and communications

 

·      Write assessments of races and candidates for supporters when needed

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

  • BA/BS degree 
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the political field
  • Experience working in the U.S. House of Representatives or on House campaigns 
  • Priority consideration will be given to candidates who have managed successful U.S. House races
  • Experience running mail, online, and TV ad programs
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of wide-ranging responsibilities; ability to work independently and proactively
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible and adaptable as needs and priorities change; experience managing to multiple deadlines  
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail 
  • Solid verbal, written, research, and interpersonal skills 
  • Sense of humor, ability to have fun, and an interest in working within a high-performing team environment

 

LOCATION:                           Washington, DC

START DATE:                        February-March 2020

TRAVEL:                               Little to no travel will be required

SALARY:                               Commensurate with experience
