Southeastern Senate Race Seeks Deputy Communications Director

Southeastern U.S. Senate campaign, a 2020 highly competitive U.S. Senate race, is seeking an energized, motivated deputy communications director to join a fast-moving communications team.

As the Deputy Communications Director, you will work closely with the Communications Director as we share the incredible story of how we're going to rebuild South Carolina into a state that works better for all of us. You'll draft a wide range of communications materials, and you'll be out on the trail with our people-powered campaign.

Job Duties Include:

General responsibilities include: writing press releases, op-ed columns, talking points for media interviews; pitching news stories and booking television and radio interviews. 

The Deputy Communications Director's daily routine will also include traveling across the state staffing the candidate, monitoring statewide newspapers and news websites; regular contact with the communications director to plan and discuss media relations; and coordination of all media events, archive news clips and monitor local issues. 

The Deputy Communications Director will work directly with the communications director to:

  • identify campaign priorities and refine messaging;
  • outline a earned media initiatives plan
  • outline a plan for local media presence;
  • schedule meetings w/ local newspaper editors; plan local press conferences
